MEETHI SEVIYAN

Ingredients :

Vermicelli – 1 cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Water – ¾ cup
Cardamom powder – 1 pinch
Finely chopped dry fruits (almonds, kismis, pistas) – 3 tbsp
Saffron – a pinch
Ghee – 2 tbsp

Method :

1)     In a non stick take ghee and roast the vermicelli till golden brown or till a nice aroma comes
2)     Add the water and cook the vermicelli till it is cooked but not dried up
3)     Add the saffron, dry fruits and sugar and cook till the sugar has melted
4)     Keep stirring till the mixture has blended well but has not dried up
5)     Switch off the gas and add cardamom powder



Note :

after adding dugar if the vermicelli has hardened, you can add water and cook it for some more time
serve hot with cold vanilla icecream on top
