Ingredients :
Wheat flour – 1 and ½ cups
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tsp
dry yeast – 1 and ½ tsp
luke warm water – ¼ cup
lukewarm milk – 1 /2 cup
melted butter – ¼ cup
finely chopped methi leaves – ¼ cup
turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
jeera – ¼ tsp
garam masala – ½ tsp
coriander powder – ½ tsp
herbed butter :
garlic finely chopped – 4
pepper powder – 1 tsp
butter – 2 tbsp
milk – for dusting
Method :
For herbed butter :
1)
In a pan take 2 tbsp butter add garlic and sauté for
4-5 mins

Add pepper powder, sauté for a min and keep aside
For the bread :

Ina small cup
take lukewarm milk and water add 1 tbsp flour, sugar and yeast and mix well,
keep aside for 10 mins to froth

Ina mixing bowl
add the flour, salt, methi, garam masala, coriander powder, jeera, turmeric
powder and mix well
5)
Add the yeast mixture and mix well, the dough will be
sticky and messy
6)
Add the melted butter and start kneading for almost 15
mins till the dough comes to a workable condition.
7)
Cover and keep in a warm place for an hour till it
doubles
8)
Roll it into a long rectangle and ½ inch thickness
9)
Spread the herbed butter on it.
10) Cut
into 5 strips of equal length
11) Place
each strip one on top of the other carefully, press slightly
12) Cut
this strip into cubes
13) Place
these cubes next to each other with the strips facing on top on a greased
baking tray.
14) Brush
milk on top and keep aside covered for another hour till it doubles again
15) Bake
this for 20-25 mins or till the surface becomes light brown and crispy in a 180
degrees preheated oven
Notes :
This can be had like a snack with tea or coffee
I placed the plain side up hence the real effect has not
come though it was crispy on top and soft from inside
