MASALA BUN - 2

Ingredients :

Maida – ¾ cup
Wheat flour – 1 and ¼ cups
Salt – to taste
Sugar – ½ tsp
Yeast – 1 heaped tsp
Green chilli – 4
Coriander leaves – 6-7
Butter – 2 tbsp + for brushing
Olive or rice bran oil – for greasing and applying on the dough
Low fat milk – to mix the dough
Boiled and mashed potatoes – 1
Milk – for brushing

Method :

1)     In a cup warm the milk in which sugar has been dissolved
2)     Mix the yeast and let it aside to rise
3)     In a mixie coarsely grind the green chillies and coriander leaves
4)     In a mixing bowl, mix maida, wheat flour, butter, salt, green chillies- coriander leaves paste,  mashed potatoes well.
5)     Add the yeast mixture and make a semi soft dough (don’t make it too soft as potatoes will make it a bit softer when kept to rise)
6)     Apply oil and keep aside for an hour or so to rise to double the size
7)     Punch it and mix well.
8)     Make balls and line it in a greased tray and leave it for half hour to rise again
9)     Brush it with milk and bake it in a 200 degree preheated oven for 15-20 mins
10) Brush it with butter when hot
