METHI MATAR MALAI

Ingredients :

Methi leaves washed and chopped fine – 3 cups
Frozen peas – 1 and ½ cups
Milk – 1 cup
Salt to taste
Garam masala – 1 tbsp

To grind into a paste :

Onion – 1
Ginger – 1”
Garlic – 1
Green chillies – 3
Cashew nuts – ½ cup
Jeera – 1 tsp

Method :

1)     Grind all ingredients for the paste in a mixie to a fine paste without adding much water
2)     In a pan take oil and add the paste, sauté for 5-7 mins till it leaves an aroma (note that this should be done on a sim flame and should not be burnt)
3)     Add the methi leaves, salt and water and cook for 5 mins
4)     Add garam masala, frozen peas and milk and cook till well blended





Note :
The original recipe had cream to be added but I added milk instead as cream tends to make the veggie heavy
