Ingredients :
For the filling :
Green peas boiled and mashed – ½ cup
Salt to taste
Green chilli ginger paste – 3 tbsp
Chaat masala – 1 tbsp
Hing – 1 pinch
Jeera – 1 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tbsp.
For the outer covering :
Wheat flour – 1 cup
Rawa – ½ cup
Ghee – ¼ cup
Salt to taste\
Milk – ½ cup
Method :
For the covering :
1)
In a wide vessel add the wheat flour, rawa, salt, ghee
and milk and form a firm tight dough, keep it in a wet muslin cloth and keep
aside for 20 mins
2)
In a pan take oil splutter jeera and hing
3)
Add the mashed green peas and the ginger chilli mixture
and mix well
4)
Add salt, coriander powder and chaat masala, mix well,
keep aside
5)
Make cricket size balls out of the covering (I got 6
out of this measure)
6)
Make slightly smaller size balls out of the filling
7)
Roll the covering to a small puri (it would be a bit
difficult as firstly it is tight and secondly theres rawa in the mixture)
8)
Place the filling and seal it well
9)
Make a small thumb indent on the opposite side of the
sealed side
10) Put
all these in boiling water and boil carefully turning them for 15-20 mins
11) Cool
them completely
12) Line
them in a greased baking tray, brush ghee over them and bake them in 180
degrees for 40-45 mins turning them around every 5-7 mins till it becomes nice
and brown
13) Break
this and serve it with hot dal
