CABBAGE MUTHIYAS IN GRAVY

Ingredients :

Grated cabbage – 1 cup
Besan – ½ cup
Hing – a pinch
Green chillies – ginger paste – 3 tbsps
Salt to taste
Soda – ½ tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Sugar – ½ tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp

For gravy :

Oil – 2 tbsp
Jeera – ½ tsp
Finely chopped onions – 1
Finely chopped tomatoes – 1
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Chilli powder – 2 tsps
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves - for garnishing


Method :

1)     In a wide vessel mix cabbage and salt and leave it for 15 mins for water to run out
2)     Squeeze this and add all the other ingredients, add the same water and make a tight dough
3)     Make oblong shaped balls and steam this.
4)     In a pan take oil, splutter jeera
5)     Sauté the chopped onions till brown
6)     Add the ginger garlic paste and sauté well
7)     Add chilli powder, salt, tomatoes and sauté till mushy
8)     Add garam masala, little water and cook the steamed balls for 5-10 mins
9)     Garnish with coriander leaves



Note :
You can add little chilli powder for sautéing the muthiyas if you like it spicy
You can have the muthiyas as it is with tea or coffee as evening snack
