Idli boiled rice - 1 cup
poha - 1/4 cup
whole urad dal - 1/2 cup
methi seeds - 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
ragi flour - 1 cup
Method :
1) soak the poha and the rice together overnight
2) soak the urad dal separately for 5-6 hours or overnight
3) in the grinder add the rice and the poha and grind to a fine dough, remove and keep aside
4) add the urad dal and grind fine till it fluffs up.
5) add this to the rice mixture add salt and mix well with the hand (hand is better as it is said that it ferments well with the warmth of the hand rather than a spatula)
6) add the ragi flour and mix well to avoid lumps
7) keep overnight for fermenting.
8) make dosas and serve hot with chutney
