Ingredients :
Basmati rice - 1 cup
tomatoes - 3
chopped capsicum - 1 big
onions chopped - 1
chilli powder - 1 tsp
sambhar powder - 1 tbsp
salt to taste
jeera - 1 tsp
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
oil - 3 tbsp
ghee - 1 tbsp
bay leaf - 1-2
Method :
1) in a pressure cooker take oil and ghee, add bay leaf
2) splutter jeera, add turmeric powder
3) add onions and saute till light brown
4) add capsicum, salt, chilli powder, sambhar powder and saute well
5) puree tomatoes to a fine juice
6) add the tomato puree and water to make up for 1 and 3/4 glasses
7) give 1 whistle. Once done fluff it with a fork to make sure the rice doesnt stick.
8) serve hot with raita
