Ingredients :
ambe mohar rice or any other jeera rice - 1 cup
milk - 1/2 cup
curd - 1/2 cup
grated carrot - 1/2 cup
cucumber chopped fine (optional) - 5 tbsp
for tempering :
oil - 1 tsp\
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
red chillies - 2
green chillies - 2
urad dal - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 5-6
hing - 1 pinch
method :
1) cook the rice till mashy, add salt and keep aside
2) add the grates carrots and cucumber and mix well with salt
3) in a pan take oil and add all the ingredients for tempering
4) add this into the rice mixture and mix well
5) add milk and mix well
6) lastly add the curd and mix well
Note : if you are going to have immediately after mixing, add equal quantities of milk and curd. if there is time before you actually serve, add more of milk and less of curd as it tends to become more sour as time goes.
you can even garnish with boondi and coriander leaves, personally i dont like it
