CHANA DAL CHUTNEY

Ingredients :

Chana dal - 1 cup
salt to taste
grated coconut - 1/4 cup
garlic - 2-3 cloves
red chillies - 2-3

For tempering :

Oil - 1 tsp + 1 tsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 5

Method : 

1) In a pan take 1 tsp oil, add garlic and red chillies, saute till pink
2) add chana dal and saute till it becomes brown
3) grind together with coconut adding little water, add salt and mix well
4) take 1 tsp of oil for tempering, splutter mustard seeds, add curry leaves and temper chutney
