BROWN DAL SUNDAL - SWEET

Ingredients :

Brown pigeon bean - 1 cup
jaggery - 3/4 cup
cardamom powder - 1tsp
ghee - 1 tbsp
water - 4 tbsp
grated coconut - 4 tbsp

Method :

1) dry roast the bean till it becomes brown and a nic aroma comes up, soak in water for 2 hours
2) pressure cook for 2-3 whistles
3) in a pan take water and jaggery and melt till it becomes slightly thick (no need for a string)
4) seive the cooked bean and add this to the jaggery mixture along with the grated coconut, saute till water dries up (do not make it too dry as it will become more hard once it becomes cool) 
5) add ghee and mix well
5) garnish with cardamom powder
