Ingredients :
Yellow moong dal soaked for 1/2 hour - 1 cup
hing - a small piece (I use the stick hing as it gives a good aroma)
Salt to taste
coriander leaves for garnishing
tomatoes cut into cubes - 1
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
for tempering :
Oil - 1 tsp
red chillies pinched - 3
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
jeera - 1 tsp
Method :
1. Take a pan and start boiling the moong dal with salt, hing, turmeric powder and the tomatoes till it becomes mashy
2. In a small pan take oil, splutter mustard seeds, jeera and red chilles and add to the cooked dal
3. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Very simple dal and takes hardly any time to cook, but extremely tasty if you have a spicy vegetable and this dal with rotis
