RAWA PONGAL

Ingredients :



Rawa or semolina – 1 cup

Moong dal – 1/3 cup

Salt to taste

Ghee – 3 tbsps

Pepper – 5-6

Jeera – 1 tsp

Ginger – 1 small pc

Cashew nuts – 2 tbsp

Curry leaves - 10



Method :


1. Roast rawa till it becomes dark pink in colour

2. Cook moong dal till it becomes mashy

3. In a pan take 2 tbsps of ghee, add pepper, ginger, cashew nuts, curry leaves and jeera

4. Fry for a minute, add the roasted rawa and sauté well

5. Add 2 glasses of hot water and cook till rawa is done

6. Add salt

7. Add the cooked dal and mix well.

8. Add 1 tbsp of ghee

9. Serve hot with coconut chutney
