Ingredients :
Whole green moong soaked in water overnight - 1 cup
salt to taste
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
fresh grated coconut for garnishing - 2 tbsp
For tempering :
Oil - 1 tbsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 5-6
hing - 1 tsp
red chillies - 4-5
method :
Cook the moong dal along with turmeric powder and salt in water till it is cooked and separate (do not pressure cook it as it will get mashy), drain and cool
In a pan, take oil and splutter mustard seeds.
add hing, curry leaves and red chillies
add the drained dal and saute well, add salt if required
