Ingredients :
Chana dal soaked in water - 1 cup
salt to taste
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
fresh grated coconut for garnishing - 2 tbsp
For tempering :
Oil - 1 tsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
hing - 1 tsp
red chillies - 3
curry leaves - 5-6
curry leaves - 5-6
method :
Cook the Chana dal by adding turmeric powder and salt in the water till the dal is cooked but separate. (do not pressure cook as it may get mashy)
Drain the dal and keep aside
In a pan, add the oil, splutter mustard seeds.
add the red chillies, curry leaves and the hing.
add the drained dal and saute well, add salt if required
