Masale Bhaat is a very famous mixed rice speciality of maharashtrians. they make this for most of the festivals and serve it with varanchi dal and puran poli. they use various vegetables like cauliflower or tindli or brinjal etc but i felt this rice is best when it is prepared with Tindli
Ingredients :
Basmati rice – 1 cup
Tindli washed and sliced – ½ cup
Salt to taste
Goda masala – 2 tbsp
Oil – 3 tbsp
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Fresh grated coconut -2 tbsp + for garnishing
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp + for garnishing
Rai – 1 tsp
Green chillies finely chopped – 3
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Method :
1)
In a pressure cooker take the oil and ghee and splutter
rai
2)
Add the green chillies, tindli, turmeric powder, salt
and mix well
3)
Add the rice and saute for 3-5 mins
4)
\add the 2 tbsp coriander leaves and the 2 tbsp grated
coconut mix well
5)
Add the goda masala, chilli powder, 2 cups of water and
give 1 whistle
6)
Garnish with coriander leaves and fresh grated coconut
