CUSTARD POWDER OR CORN FLOUR HALWA

Ingredients :

Custard powder – 1 cup
Sugar – 3 cups
Water – 4 cups
Ghee – 3 tbsps + for greasing the thali
Chopped almonds or pistachios – 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp

Method :

1)     In a mixing bowl add the custard powder, water and sugar and mix thoroughly (make sure there are no lumps)
2)     Grease a plate with ghee and keep aside
3)     In a non stick pan, add the custard powder mixture and start cooking on medium flame till it becomes trasnculent
4)     Add the cardamom powder and the chopped almonds/pistachios and continue cooking till you will find it hard to stir. It may or may not leave the sides of the pan
5)     Pour this on to the greased plate, tap it 2 times for it settle and leave it to cool
6)     Grease a knife and cut into diamond shapes
