Ingredients :
Rice soaked - 1 cup
green moong dal soaked - 3/4 cup
Hing - 1 tsp
jeera - 1 tsp
ghee - 2 tbsp
salt to taste
green chillies chopped fine - 1 tbsp
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
guwar vegetable chopped into 1" (optional) - 1/4 cup
Method :
1) In a pressure cooker add the ghee and splutter jeera
2) add the hing, turmeric powder and the green chillies
3) add the soaked rice and dal and mix well
4) add salt and the guwar vegetable, mix well for 2-3 mins
5) add enough water and give 2-3 whistles
6) once done, you can garnish with 1 tbsp of ghee on top and have hot with Kadhi
GUJRATI KADHI
Rice soaked - 1 cup

GUJRATI KADHI
Ingredients :
butter milk or curd - 1 cup
water - 3 cups
besan - 1& 1/2 tbsp
salt to taste
sugar - 1/2 tsp
hing - 1 tsp
methi seeds - 1/2 tsp
green chillies chopped fine - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 5-6
ghee - 2 tsps
jeera - 1 tsp
coriander leaves chopped fine - 1 tbsp
Method :
1) mix the curd, water and besan and beat well with a beater
2) in a kadai, add the ghee and splutter methi seeds and jeera
3) add green chillies and hing and mix well
4) add the curry leaves
5) add the curd-besan mixture and keep cooking on slow gas
6) add the salt and sugar
7) cook till done, it should not be thick, it should
be watery with a blended consistency
8) garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with hot kichdi
