Ingredients :
Soaked green moong dal - 1 cup
onions chopped roughly - 1
tomatoes chopped roughly - 1
chilli powder - 1 tbsp
salt to taste
grated fresh coconut - 2 tbsp
coriander leaves - 2 tbsps
oil - 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 1 tsp
ginger - 1"
Method :
1) pressure cook the moong dal till it is just about cooked, take care not to mash it, keep aside
2) In a pan take 1 tbsp of oil and add onions and saute till it becomes brown
3) add tomatoes and ginger and saute well till the tomatoes becomes mashy
4) add add the chilli powder, salt and mix well
5) add the coconut, mix well and switch off the gas
6) in a mixie, add the above along with coriander leaves and grind well
7) in the same pan add 1 tbsp of oil and splutter the mustard seeds and add the curry leaves
8) add the cooked moong dal and the ground mixture, mix well and give one boil, switch off the gas
