CABBAGE AND DAL CRUMBLE

Ingredients :



Cabbage chopped - 1 cup
tur dal (red gram dal) soaked in water for 1 hour and drain the water completely - 1/4 cup
Chana dal soaked in water for 1 hour and drain the water completely - 3 tbsp
red chillies - 5-6
curry leaves - 10
salt to taste
hing - 1 tsp
oil - 3 tbsps
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
turmeric powder - 1 tsp



Method :

1) make a coarse paste of drained dals, red chillies, hing, salt and curry leaves
2)steam this paste in a greased idli plate, keep aside to cool
3) Once cooled, crumble it (sometimes the dal cannot be completely crumbled, you can grind it in a mixie)

To proceed :

4) In a pan, take oil and splutter mustard seeds, add turmeric powder
5) add the cabbage, salt, cover and cook till done
7) add the crumble and mix well and saute for 15-20 mins in sim flame.
