Ingredients :
For the patties :
Boiled potatoes - 3 (preferably the sticky potatoes)
salt to taste
paste of :
2 green chillies, small piece of ginger, 1/2 tsp garlic paste (optional) & coriander leaves - 4-5 sprigs
chaat masala - 2 tsp
corn flour - 7-8 tbps
oil for sauteing
For the ragda :
yellow peas soaked in water overnight (ragda, it resembles soya bean) - 1 cup
turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
salt to taste - 1 tbsp
rock salt - 1 tsp
chaat masala - 3 tbsp
chilli powder - 1 tbsp
For garnishing :
finely chopped onions - 1/2 cup
coriander leaves
sweet chutney
sev (optional)
sev (optional)
Method :
For the patties :
Take a broad vessel, mash the potatoes nicely
add the chilli paste, salt, chaat masala and mash well
add the corn flour for binding the above paste
make cricket size balls and flatten it slightly and keep aside.
in a non stick pan, spray oil and saute the patties till they are golden brown
For the ragda :
boil the soaked ragda with turmeric powder for 2 whistles
Once you are able to open the cooker, add the salt, rock salt, chilli powder and mix well
lastly add chaat masala and mix well, keep boiling it on sim flame
for serving :
In a plate, keep the patties
pour hot ragda over it
add imli chutney, garnish with onions and coriander leaves and serve.
You can garnish with sev on top of the above if you wish
