RIDGE GOURD CHUTNEY

Ingredients :

Ridge gourd - 1
tamarind - 1 tennis ball size (to be added with the ground powder)
salt to taste
oil - 2 tbsp
fresh grated coconut - 3 tbsps ( to be added with the ground powder)
to make a powder :
urad dal - 3 tbsp
red chillies - 4-5
hing - 2 tsp
ghee - 1 tsp

Method :
Peel the skin of the ridge gourd and cut the flesh into small round pieces
in a pan take oil and saute the pieces till it becomes slightly brown and mashy, cool

For the powder :

In another pan, take ghee and saute urad dal, hing and red chillies till the urad dal becomes brown
powder this.
in a mixie, add the coconut and the tamarind and grind it well.
then add the vegetables and grind once again
lastly add the powder, salt and grind it once again
take it out in a bowl and mix well.

You can use chutney to be had with chapathi or you can even eat with idlis/dosas
