LOBIA DAL

Ingredients :

Pigeon eyed beans/Lobia soaked for 2 hours - 1 cup
tomatoes pureed - 2 small-medium or 1 big
god masala - 2 tbsps
chilli powder - 1 tsp
salt to tase
milk - 1/2 cup
coriander leaves for garnishing

For tempering :
Oil - 1 tbsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
turmeric powder - 1 tsp


Method :

In a pressure cooker, take oil and splutter mustard seeds
puree tomatoes in a chopper
add turmeric seeds and add the tomato puree
saute well, add salt and the god masala. mix well
put the soaked lobia, add water to cover the beans and give 2 whistles
once done add milk and boil for a min
garnish with coriander leaves


Variation :

If you want you can also cook the lobia first. then follow the other steps and add the lobia and milk and give a boil.
