This is a simple dal. there are 3 dals added to this hence the name
Ingredients :
Tur dal – 1/3 cup
Chana dal – 1/3 cup
Moong dal – 1/3 cup
Salt to taste
Green chilli – ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1
For tempering :
Oil – 2 tbsp
Jeera – 2 tsps
Bay leaf – 1
Cloves – 3-4
Finely chopped tomatoes – 1 big
Red chillies – 2
Method :
1)
Soak the dals for an hour
2)
Pressure cook with turmeric powder for 5-6 whistles,
mash it well once cool
3)
In a pan take oil, splutter jeera
4)
Add bay leaf, cloves and red chillies one by one and sauté till
you get a nice aroma
5)
Add the green chilli ginger paste and sauté well
6)
Add the tomatoes and cook till mushy
7)
Add salt and chilli powder and mix well
8)
Add this to the cooked dal, add 1 cup of water and cook
for 5-10 mins
9)
Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves
