CHANA DAL VADAS

These vadas are made with puran poli on the previous day of Pongal

Ingredients :

Chana dal soaked in water for an hour – 1 cup
Tur dal soaked – 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red chillies – 4-5
Hing – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 6-7

Method :

1)     Drain the water from the dals and keep aside for 15 mins
2)     Grind red chillies, salt, hing, curry leaves in a mixie
3)     Add the drained dals little by little and grind it into a very coarse mixture without adding water, make sure there are some whole dals (take care not to grind it into a paste)
4)     Wet your palm, take a lemon size ball and pat it slightly and deep fry





Note :

If this vada is made as an evening snack, you can add finely onions and coriander leaves and have it with tea
